Damage Reduction Medals Review [2] - Skill 1 Base

Hello all One Piece Bounty Rush players. Gaminsight wanna share about another damage reduction medal set exists till now (Season 67), this time specific for Damage Reduction Skill 1. This medal set to get big damage reduction (minimum 15%) and fast cooldown for Skill 1, which is really useful for most defenders and some runners or attackers. Here we go:

Minimum requirements of this set:

- 15% Damage Reduction

- 20% (Trio) Skill 1 Tag or 14% (Pair) Skill 1 Tag + Skill 1 unique trait from one medal

1. Donquixote Family

The two Donquixote Family medals that provide skill 1 CD as unique trait are Baby 5 Medal and Monet Medal, which has really nice trait for defenders (Boost cooldown speed of Skill 1 by 13% when you are in your captured treasure for Baby 5 Medal and Reduce Cooldown time of Skill 1 by 2% everytime getting hit for Monet Medal). 

Combine Baby 5 Medal with any Donquixote and Dressrosa medals, we will get at least 15% damage reduction and minimum 14%-30% speed boost of Skill 1. Without Baby 5 medal, you can also combine some damage reduction medals in Dressrosa and activate Trio Dressrosa tag and minimum 15% damage reduction.

We can also combine Monet Medal with some damage reduction in Punk Hazard such as Caesar Clown Medal (regular one, not event) and another Donquixote Family such as Corazon Medal, Hobby-Hobby Medal or Buffalo Medal. Then we will get at least 15%-17% damage reduction and Skill 1 tag for 14% speed boost,  2% Skill 1 time reduction for each hit taken and 7% dodge from logia tag.

This is list of sets that can reach minimum requirements for damage reduction + skill 1 medal set from Donquixote Family, Dressrosa or Punk Hazard:

11 sets above has Donquixote Family medal as core for its damage reduction, which the damage reduction trait activate when you are alone in any treasure area. Other combinations for the damage reduction depend on individual medal you choose to complete the set. Buffalo medal has damage reduction trait activation as same as Donquxote Family tag. Hobby-Hobby medal need to keep you HP above 70% for the extra 3% damage reduction to be activated. Corazon, Fujitora, Blue Sabo and Caesar Clown has 5% damage reduction in your team captured treasure. 

As for Skill 1 condition, the point is on Baby 5 or Monet. If you use Baby 5 as one of medal of the set, then you have to play in your treasure area so your Skill 1’s cooldown +13% faster than usual. And for Monet medal, usually its really good if combine on unit with big defense buff or big damage reduction, so you can take so many hits with little damage (ofcourse depend on what units are attacking you) and get benefit for skill 1 time reduce (2%/hit)

Those sets above are really suitable for defenders that really has good Skill 1 and big damage reduction and dont need to worry about their Skill 2 took longer to use again. For example Mihawk and Magelan, they have big damage reduction, their Skill 2 are very short base CD and Skill 1 are really important but longer base cooldown time. Equip one of those medal sets listed above to Mihawk or Magellan are nice choice. You can equip the sets above on other defenders such as AceMarco, Urouge, Ennies Lobby Robin, etc.

2. Ex Roger Pirates

Ex Roger Pirates Tag are one of Skill 1 and damage reduction base medal sets. Main medal for this set is Oden, then the 2nd medal must be other Ex Roger Pirates that has Skill 1 unique trait such as Marineford Shanks, Rayleigh, East Blue Buggy and Event Bullet (Clank-Clank). Then the 3rd medal must have damage reduction on its unique trait and share same Skill 1 tag (location) as same as 2nd medal’s location tag. For example Sengoku with Shanks, Blue Attacker Kid with Rayleigh and Gaimon with Buggy. Here the list of sets:

d. [Oden] – [Rayleigh] – [Bonney]

15% Damage reduction | 14% Skill 1 Boost + 8 % Reduce time

e. [Oden] – [Buggy] – [Gaimon]

The weakness of the sets above if you want to keep the requirements, minimum 15% damage reduction and skill 1 cd (20% tag or 14% from tag + an unique trait) are there are no dodge cooldown, skill 2 cooldown and no capture speed.  There also other problem with Shanks or Rayleigh unique trait that equiping on units that rarely kill (low attack units), most defenders doesnt have big base attack to begin with.

So with the traits from tag and unique trait on medal set above, use one of those medal set that can keep their HP above 70%, so you can keep the trait from Oden or Blue Attacker Kid medals activated. Fight in any treasure alone to keep the Ex Roger Pirates tag active. Fight alone in enemy’s treasure if your set is the one with Murder Machine (Event Killer Sabaody) Medal, fight alone in your treasure if your 3rd medal the one with Sengoku, Bonney or Gaimon Medal. And fight alone in any treasure on last minute if your set is the one with Champion Medal (Event Burgess). 

The east blue Buggy medal activate if you are with your teammate in any treasure and only +10% addition speed boost of Skill 1. So if you use that set (Oden – Buggy – Gaimon), the benefit of Skill 1 CD is not that big, but the best part is in any treasure area (your team’s treasure or enemy’s treasure), you can get either extra 10% skill 1 speed boost or extra 7% damage reduction from Ex-Roger Pirates tag.

3. Blackbeard Pirates

Blackbeard Pirates Tag has damage reduction, which is same as Donquixote Pirates or Ex-Roger Pirates tag (when your teammates are not near the treasure you are at). For now, only 3 medals on this game has Blackbeard Pirates tag. Teech Medal (Regular Blackbeard), Champion Medal (Event Burgess) and Rain Medal (Event Shilliew). Champion has damage reduction 5% on last minute and Teech (Blackbeard) Medal boost speed of Skill 1 by 13 in your treasure area. Also the Rain Medal reduce time of Skill 1 by 5% for each crit occured. Combine Champion medal with other Blackbeard Pirates Medal or any damage reduction medal with Marineford Tag, you can get one of best Damage Reduction + Skill 1 medal set in One Piece Bounty Rush.

This set need Champion medal as the first medal. Champion Medal is one of old event medal  in One Piece Bounty Rush, that released on 1st Anniversary with Rain Medal and Extreme Bounty Fest Unit, Blackbeard. So most new players dont have access to this Blackbeard Pirates damage reduction + skill 1 set.

Damage Reduction from Champion Medal also only activate on last minute, really important to keep the tankiness on last minute, also can lost the 5% damage reduction on first 2 minutes. However, last minute is usually the important time of a match, that if no 5-0 win or 0-5 lost on first 2 minutes. And its only 5% lost, so you dont need to worry for the first 2 minutes, you still can get around 7%-12% damage reduction on first 2 minutes.

The lack of tags also makes this Blackbeard Pirates set not so good, except if you want to build Set H (Champion – Teeach – Other Random Damage Reduction Medal Outside of Marineford), which is has so many options for additional tag, example with Blue Kid as 3rd medal, you get Captain and Worst Generation tag activated and 5% damage reduction when HP above 70%. With other logia damage reduction medal such as Amaru, AceMarco or Caesar Clown for 7% dodge CD. For now there are no Damage Reduction medal with 7 Warlords Tag, so no skill 2 for the Blackbeard Pirates Damage Reduction + Skill 1 set. 

4. Mantra

One of popular damage reduction set in One Piece Bounty Rush is Enel Set (Mantra Set). This damage reduction set has Amaru Medal as source of 5% damage reduction in your captured treasure (your team treasure area), 3% chance to inflict shock from non-projectile attacks, extra 13% boost cooldown speed of Skill 1 and 4 trio tags active which is Sky Island (Skill 1), God’s Army (Skill 2), Logia (Dodge) and Mantra (Damage Reduction when your team has less treasure secured).

Some combination to get atleast 15% damage reduction and 20% Skill 1 or 14% Skill 1 + an Skill 1 unique trait are below

e. [Amaru] – [Eneru] – [Other Damage Reduction Medal Outside of Sky Island]

15% - 18% Damage reduction | 27% Skill 1 Boost |14% Skill 2 Boost | 7% - 10% Dodge 

Most players use this set to gain benefit from Rumble Shock chance, which is as same as chance to nullify any damage (from non-projectile attack or non nullify shock unit). With high damage reduction, usually when your team has less treasure secured and with maximum boost cooldown of Skill 1 up to 30% and some standards tag for skill 2 and dodge, this set is really good.

Weakness of this set for the damage reduction are enemy usually equip some medal tags such as Worst Generations or 4 Emperors (damage increase when less treasure secured). So when your team has less treasure secured, you get damage reduction while enemy with worst generation tag dont have damage increase. But when your team has more treasure secured, thats when you loss damage reduction from Mantra Tag while enemy gain more damage increase. This set is good if your target in match is utilize 2nd team boost, when you can just guard your 1st or 2nd treasure before last team boost for your team and counter attack right after.

5. Thriller Bark Zombie

The first 20% damage reduction set in One Piece Bounty Rush, known as Zombie Set, which all of damage reduction traits came from the tags (Zombie Tag and Thriller Bark Pirates Tag). The 20% damage reduction can only be achievable with 3 medals that has Zombie Tag and Thriller Bark Pirates. Those medals are Ryuma Medal, Genie Medal and Wild Zombie Medal. 

However, we still can get minimum 17% damage reduction if one of those three medals didnt available on your box. Just combine with other Thriller Bark Pirates tag + Thriller Bark tag medal such as Perona Medal or Moria Medal, then you can meet the requirements of minimum 15% damage reduction and 20% skill 1 speed boost. And since Wild Zombie has skill 1 unique trait, you can also combine the set with Negative Ghost Medal (Blue Defender Perona) and Spiky Shadow Lizard Medal (Blue Attacker Moria).

17% Damage reduction | 14% or 20% Skill 1 Boost + 3% Reduce Time |10% Dodge (with condition)| Other traits depend on 3rd Medal

c. [Wild Zombie] – [Genie] – [Other Thriller Bark Pirates Medal]

17% Damage reduction | 14% or 20% Skill 1 Boost + 3% Reduce Time |5% HP Recovery| Other traits depend on 3rd Medal

6. Sabaody Archipelago

Right now (Season 67), we have 3 medals with 5% damage reduction that has Sabaody Archipelago/Island of Women (Skill 1 cooldown speed boost),  Kid Medal (Blue Attacker), Gang Medal (Event Bege Sabaody) and Murder Machine Medal (Event Killer Sabaody). Bonney Medal also has damage reduction trait, but its only 3% damage reduction. So for now, this medal cant be used to reach the minimum requirements for Damage Reduction Skill 1 Medal set.

Kid Medal is 5% damage reduction when HP above 70%, Gang Medal damage reduction in treasure with Allies and Murder Machine medal damage reduction in enemy's treasure. All damage reduction traits can be activated on same time when your HP is above 70% and have allies with you in enemy's treasure. 

Combination of Sabaody Archipelago Damage Reduction Skill 1 Set:

a [Kid] – [Gang] – [Murder Machine]

15% Damage reduction | 20% Skill 1 Boost | 14% Skill 2 Boost | 14% Capture Speed | 7% Dodge | 10% Damage Increase

This medal is more suit for attackers or runners than defenders, since 1 of unique trait activate in enemy treasure. Few defenders who can effectively equipped with this medal set are Kin'emon and Defender Big Mom, since their damage reduction trait can activate on same time as 3 unique traits from this medal set.

7. Land of Wano

Right now (Season 67), we have 4 medals with 5% damage reduction that has Land of Wano Tag (Skill 1 cooldown speed boost), Raid Luffy, Kin’emon, Ashura Doji and Kid’s Partner (Event Killer Wano). Raid Luffy and Ashura Doji has 5% damage reduction in your captured treasure unique trait. Kin’emon and Kid’s Partner Medal has 5% damage reduction when your HP is more than 70%. There are no damage reduction from tag for this Land of Wano  Damage Reduction + Skill 1 set. So the combination only mixed of those 4 medals to meet the requirements of minimum 15% damage reduction and 20% Skill 1 tag or 14% skill 1 tag with a skill 1 unique trait.

The choice depend on you, want more damage reduction trait with HP treshold or with your captured area condition. Want more capture speed + dodge or damage increase + dodge. This medal only give 20% skill 1 cooldown speed boost, so not so fast than other damage reduction + skill 1 set listed here.

8. Sun Pirates - Fishman Karate

With the additional of 3 medals with Sun Pirates tag (Boss, Aladdin and Praline) + 1 medal with Fishman Karate Tag (Boss), we got new set with damage reduction Skill 1 criteria. Boss Medal has 2 damage reduction tag (Sun Pirates and Fishman Karate) and skill 1 unique trait (5% cooldown time reduction of Skill 1 after using Skill 2).  For 2nd medal, use 1 of 2 new event medals (Praline or Aladdin) and 3rd medal is Jimbei Medal (Regular medal from Bounty Fest/Blue Attacker Jimbei), and we get 2 alternative set, [Boss - Praline - Jimbei] and [Boss - Aladdin - Jimbei].

For now, thats all Damage Reduction Skill 1 base (with its minimum requirements) i can remember. For more modifications of combo, there still plenty of this kind of sets, with less damage reduction or less Skill 1.
